spider cracks

my deck has got alot of spider cracks and was thinking if i paint it with a non skid marine paint would that hide/cover them
like durabak

It will the very very light ones, but will not cover thge others for long!! Been there done that.
What you need to do is use a dermel tool and V out all the cracks and fill, then you can gel coat or paint after.

There was someone here years ago that showed there boat all dremeled man what a lot of work!!!!!!

My V had a lot of them and I just made belive they weren't there.

as you get older, you will notice less of them

I had the deck repaired about 5 years ago,I had a soft spot in the center panel so the guy redid the whole deck but didnt do a good job.Now it looks like the spider cracks a everywhere, there not structual just cosmetic but if i cann paint over it with that durabak paint that would be great, for me to dremal every one and fill it it will take me along time and i dont have the skills to finish it correctly
i was hoping someone used that paint before me and it worked if so let me know thanks

I used that paint and it is great stuff!! But like I said if they are small hair lines they will cover, but if they are any more then hair lines they will come back.

I call those character lines. Can't get them on new boats.

I havent done it yet but i am planning on doing the same thing. I ground the real bad spots and i was thinking this stuff might be good. http://www.ultratuff.net/marineprod.htm The second one on the list may be good for cracks because its flexible ? I don't know for sure. just an idea
I think a lot of times if you dont fix whatever causes the cracks they will come right back.

The cracks them self are not the problem, its the moister thy let in, that rots the deck over time.
