Deck repair question

Boat has a soft spot in the deck. I want to cut out the soft area with the skilsaw removing a generous amount so as to get into the good area. One question, three parts.
1. Which is the best skilsaw blade to use (number of teeth per inch etc)
2. Should the cut be made at a 45 degree angle so as to retain the replacement piece of plywood when placed in the void
3. Recommended type of epoxy/resin/cloth to finish with

Thanks for the help.

Not knowing the boat (add to your signature).
To ponder: can you put an inspection hatch in that location?

Cut with any type saw, use Wesy System, then recoat whole floor with non skid paint.

Thanks guys for the info. Do you think that I should use a 45 degree angle on the cut out or is there a better to keep the replacement board in place and from falling through the opening?

noy sure

before you start cutting make sure you know what to do
i think you should get a router and cut the top layer away and replace it with good wood then fiber glass it in but how big of an area are we talking about

The soft area is about 18" X 26". I do know that the floor is of 3/4" plywood with a layer of FB. I do not know what type or weight the FB is. Then above that is of course the painted surface. I suppose I could easily drill out a 2" inspection hole and with a mirror and light examine the area first. I appreciate your impute. Oh, and BTW, it appears that this soft spot was caused by the former owner installing a seat base and when placing the hold down screws did not use an type of sealant 5200, silicone, bubblegum or whatever with the screws.
