Old Gas
 

The guy I boat the boat from had two 6 Gallon Tanks top off last year and he is not positive the gas was treated. Is there a way to test the gas to see if its good?

Just mix with some new gas, it will be fine!

Seriously, bad gas has a very distict smell. Kind of like varnish.

Until it gets REALLY old, then it doesn't have much of a smell at all until it turns to tar. The fuel I drained out of the SEARAY last year didn't really have much smell at all to it, and didn't burn worth a crap! Couldn't hardly burn it, yet you could tell it was old gas not water.

If in doubt, mix it half and half with fresh gas and a bottle of octane booster.
