89 Yamaha 175 fuel consumption question

I have a 1989 Yamaha 175 precision blend on my 1984 wellcraft v-20. I was wondering if any of you guys had any idea what my fuel consumption had been. I am hoping to do some testing this weekend. I just got the boat. But was wondering what the range would be cruising with a 60 gallon tank. Thanks in advance!!

I had the same motor I have no idea the hour rate but can say i got 2.5 miles a gallon on my 1975 V20 Cuddy, empty with me I hit 40 mph, loaded with 3 guys and gear, top 35, and curz nice at 30 mph

that was on a I/O Hull converted with a stainless marine bracket.

Hope that helped

I have only had the boat a couple weeks. With four people and my yellow lab with a little gas i was running 45. with gas and gear we run 43 and i have been cruising around 28.
Does anyone know what RPM's to cruise at with this 89' 175 yamaha 2 stroke?????

4000-4200 RPM's is a good cruise RPM for most 2 stroke outboards. 4200 is normally where they start gulping gas.

O yea I forgot to say I also used a 15 1/2 X 15 prop, I commercial fish, and at the end of a day I was loaded with fish, I like the bigger prop to get me out the hole better.
But it does cut down on the top end a bit!
