Take a look at this and give me your opinion
My 60 gallon tank in my V is starting to corrode around the fuel sending unit so I bought a 40 gallon poly tank off Ebay. It is the same tank that Whale bought in the "Fuel in the Bilge" thread. I received the tank yesterday and it has a gash on one of the seams. I contacted the Ebay member to see what they can do about it and I'm waiting for an answer. Do you think this gash is deep enough to compromise the integrity of tank?

I don't think so but there are others here that have more experience. You may be able to have it welded by a body shop they have welders that can weld poly/plastic bumbers. I had one done a year ago.

I just received an email from the seller, they are going to send out a replacement tank and contact UPS to pick up the old tank. I wasnt planning on doing the tank for another of couple of weeks anyway so its okay.

Its good to hear about companies that do the right thing. I'd be willing to pay just a little more to do business with people who are easy to deal with.
