New Grill....
I found this wood coal smoker setup on Craigslist about 45 min. from my house. I knew my buddy Slick had discussed spending a pretty penny for a nice cooker so I told him about this one. Long story short - we went down to look at it yesterday evening Chad purchased the last cooker he will ever need.
This joker is AWESOME! Even came with a HUGE burn barrel to make coals with. Not only that but Chad (salesman) talked him into throwing in a big pile of split hickory wood!! These are the pics from Craigslist. You cant' get a good read on the size of this barrel but it is about an inch shy of 6ft tall and WIIIIIIDDDDDE! Big ol bars welded in at the bottom, the very top was left solid and a "window" was cut in the side part of the barrel near the top for the smoke to escape. It can rain all day and the fire stays uneffected - ingenious. You motorheads would get a kick out of the hinges on the smoker lid. They are from the hood of a Chevy truck! The lid lifts and stays up just like a hood on a truck! Slick paid $475 for the smoker, the MEGA barrel, and the hickory. Please don't call the law on us. Pulling that thing to Slicks house last night I told him I felt like we had a goldmine sitting on that trailer. We were both like kids in a candy store!! We start cooking Sunday morning...prolly about 50 half chickens, couple of racks of ribs....maybe fry up some striper....I don't give a $hit who wins the superbowl!! HEEHAWW!! :sun: http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d7...ds_cooker1.jpg http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d7...ds_cooker2.jpg http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d7...ds_cooker3.jpg |

Can't wait to put one of these on there: :deer: |

Where's the copper tubeing for the thumper barrel?
:fam: |
Any chance that there were more of these for sale? I'm looking and that would be perfect. I bought a towable one last summer for $1800 on ebay and picked it up in N.C. The thing is great but it stays about 50 miles away and is primarily used for work.

No, this was bought from an individual who designed and had it built. Keep an eye on craigslist - Ive found some decent deals on there recently with the cookers.

I saw a pretty cool smoker type of grill on a Food Network show--called something "cooking with the Neelys." It was a combo type of deal. You could grill on the main portion of the grill. Or, for barbecueing, you could put the wood/charcoal in a side compartment, put the meat on the main grill portion, and the heat and smoke from the side compartment would be drawn into the main grill portion and out the vents. It looked pretty cool.

Nipper I've seen those. They are pretty cool. I've never seen one in action but I imagine it would be easy to operate and work well.
