I think that I know the rod which you speak of. If it's the same one, I handled it the other day with a Shimano 4500 Baitrunner mounted and it was well balanced. I was thinking it would be a good spinner for big rock in heavy current areas, maybe even good for some wreck fishing.

Re: NEED A REEL.
I'll second the bait runner, I use a 4500 for my surf fishing and love it.
For the boat I have a Shimano Sustain 8000, a bit expensive, but worth every penny ;D http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k1...boat715133.jpg http://i87.photobucket.com/albums/k1...boat715130.jpg |
Re: NEED A REEL.
oh, shes pretty, sure.
but can she fish? |
Re: NEED A REEL.
Why yes she can ;D
I use her litle sister (Sustain 5000) for schooly Blue Fins to 30lbs (biggest so far) and with 100% confidence ;D |
Re: NEED A REEL.
I would second the shimano baitrunner. Or if youwant a slightly better drag then the shimano thunnus. The baitrunner feature is a big selling point for me on both of these reels. I have about 10 of them and havent been able to destroy one yet. I have also heard good things about the Quantum Cabo & Boca PT spinning reels but dont own any. Stay away from the Okuma's they dont hold up to larger fish.
