What type caulk? The kitchen is almost done so I'm starting to prepare for my spring boat projects. I'm going to replace all of my fuel lines. I'll have to remove the tank cover, what caulk should I use to reseal this cover? Bill Mc ;D |

Re: What type caulk? Mac, I think 3M's 4200 is the stuff you seek... ;D... |

Re: What type caulk? 4200, 5200 its all good!! But try for the fast cure!! at least with 5200 if you don't get it it will cure for days!! |

Re: What type caulk? Wouldn't you want to use something a little less permanent (maybe not) or more flexible than 4200 or 5200 to caulk with? I don't know. Just curious. ??? |

Re: What type caulk? I used 4200. Its rubbery when cured like silicone. It yellows with dirt etc but cleans up nice and white. Dont forget to lay a piece of 200 lb mono in the gap all the way around. That way, if you ever have to remove it, just pull up the mono and it will cut the sealant all the way around for you. |

Re: What type caulk? Wow that is a good Idea!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you send that to On the water they will give you a free reel if they use it |

Re: What type caulk? From what I have heard, use 4200 on things that you want to come apart later on. 5200 is more of a permament fix., Just my.02. Great idea with the 200 lb. line! |

Re: What type caulk? They sell a release stuff to get 5200 soft to get it apart again. But the line trick is the thing to do!! |

Re: What type caulk? Thanks guys for your replies. I like the line technique. Bill Mc ;D |
