Fishing rod boxes
My rod boxes are cracked/broken ('85 V20, cuddy). Anyone know where there's something on this site about that (I searched some), or ideas about fixing/replacing them? It would be nice if they held a few more rods too. Thanks

Page 5 of the gallery, *Wiseguy restored his rod boxes and they look great. *Also Flounder Pounder Marine has rod boxes on Ebay right now. *I'm not sure they will fit better measure

Re: Fishing rod boxes
jaysea, you got pictures of those boxes installed in the boat?
BTW - wiseguy you did a nice job with your restoraton - what kind of paint did you use and is it still sticking to the boat? Mine looks pretty good, so I probably will just do gelcoat repairs, but I'm curious. |
Re: Fishing rod boxes
I put in rod boxes from FP marine 2 years ago. They are great. I think I had to do some very minor trimming but can't really remember now. They hold 3 rods per side. I can get the measurement tonight if neeeded.

Re: Fishing rod boxes
Air,
Do you have a picture of what they look like? Do they have a finished flange, so they eliminate the wood trim? It looks like FP has a varying supply - I ran out a list to see if they have something that will fit. Am I right that they sell surplus and don't have a consistant stock of sizes? Thanks |
Re: Fishing rod boxes
i would like to see pictures too because for $50 bucks how can i go wrong?!

Re: Fishing rod boxes

Re: Fishing rod boxes
No pics still, sorry. They have a nice flange and the teak is gone. I want to say that the measurement they provide on the website may be for the cutout and the flange wan't in the measurement but I can't remember. I had to do very little trimming but do remember it as a very easy project.
