Rotted transom core on video...opinions please!!
 

Well guys I just got the aluminum cap off and here is what I found. Its not horrible, but it aint great either. ::)

ok i see it now even better than before on the teley. When you cut the top of the cap cut it in the well some. cut it about 10 inches low all the way across inside the well on the transom. I cut mine only 6 inches but in your case go 10" minimum. see where i cut mine.

Stinky I have never done that kind of repair though from what I have seen others do you should be ok to do wwhat your saying as long as you don't have to go to deep into the transom to remove rot wood. How deep does it go .
And I am not a crack head , though I have cracked heads ;)

It looks like you got it under control. Nothin to it but to do it. Looks like it should be plenty strong.

Hey Stink, why did you raise the splashwell if you're closing in the transom? Couldn't you eliminate the splashwell all together??? You'd have so much more room.

The splash well is coming out Tin...the bait wells will be in the top. I will have an access hatch on the interior rear wall to get to the bilge area. I just havent cut it out yet. What you see is "stock". ;)
