Paint
Was wondering if anybody has used this Tuff Coat non skid paint. Was gonna buy the duraback paint, but this stuff was ^4.00 a gallon compared to $127.00 for the Duraback. Just ordered a gallon of it today to do the deck with. ;)
Mulv found this paint at a Bass Pro-shop website. |

Let me know how it works out for you. I just bought two gallons of durabak ( 89.00 each off ebay) and plan on re-doing my decks this spring. Was wondering how easy it is to work it in the non skid already in place? Any idea how well it flows? Kamikaze |
Re: Paint
Tried looking for the company online and to see how it should be applied. Hopefully no primer is required.
I read alot on Duraback paint and they say it goes on realy well. I wanted to go with Duraback myself, but it didnt fit the budget. Waiting for some warm weather to hit us in Delaware so I can put on the paint. |
Re: Paint
Looks pretty good?? here is the technical data
http://www.ultratuff.net/marinetech.htm Surface Preparation and Adhesion As with all coatings, Ultra TUFF adhesion is dependent on the quality of the substrate and the preparation of the substrate. All surfaces must be sound, dry, free of oil, wax, grease, and loose material. Use the Ultra TUFF Application Manual as directed. Equipment Cleanup Clean equipment with hot or cold water. Over-spray and application errors should be cleaned with a water damp cloth as soon as the error occurs. |

FIBERGLASS
1. To insure good adhesion, first sand the surface aggressively using a 36 or 40 grit paper to ensure the removal of all gloss from the substrate. 2. Insure that the surface is free of waxes and other protective additives. 3. Clean and completely dry surface. 4. Prime with CP-10. 5. Test for adhesion first, before completing job. Apply The Product. |
Re: Paint
Mac,
Your Truly a GOD !! ;D But what is CP-10 ?????? |
Re: Paint
Damm, its a primer. Was hoping I didnt have to primer first.
Many thanks. |
Re: Paint
Just ordered a quart of primer. Not bad in price, $15.00 and the quart covers 62 square feet they say. All I need now is some warm weather. Mac, can you do anything about that ;D ;D ;D
