Downriggers
 

Anyone use downriggers? I just won a cannon downrigger on ebay and bidding on a second one. Looking for some tips on release clips, techniques etc.

No but if you don't want them hold them for me, I need to get me some for next season.
They are easy to use Franco, I had an old manual one years ago, if you get them what a lot of guys are doing now is getting rid of the wire cable and useing heavy fishing line, I think braid but some also using mono. Some of those rigs you cannot do that with though.
Release clips are pretty much the same idea just different looks and the weights are a little more involved, you need to know capacity of your set up and do some reading about the newer shapes they have now.
The Old Coot from south of the Mason Dixon uses them I think along with planing boards and hand grenades ;D
