Power drain Battery
I have checked batteries with load checker, Advance auto and with my meter. Batteries are good too go. When trying to start motor just groans and pulls batteries down. Is this a bad starter and if so what is the procedure to verify problem?

Re: Power drain Battery
Could be a bad starter or more likely, bad cables or connections.

Chic,
Have you cleaned and wire brushed your lugs on your cables, I know this can make a big difference. |

Re: Power drain Battery
This happened to me already. Motor not starting. Loose and old cable wires. Starts everytime now.

Re: Power drain Battery
I have done everything I can do. Caved in to a profeesiol. Ran out of time , energy and natural talent, Not that I had any to start with. Frustration factor and not having boat to fish drove me to it. :( :( :( ??? ??? ???

Re: Power drain Battery
Wopper - would love to know what the problem was when you know. I have a similiar problem. Nothing worst than driving 40 minutes to the boat with family and tow to a boat that won't start.

Re: Power drain Battery
I had similiar problem. Turned out to be the connections on the back of the dual battery switch were all corroded. New switch fixed the problem.

Re: Power drain Battery
Haven't heard anything yet. I took switch out of the equation and went straight to battery terminals. Tech did mention the alternator / starter could be issue but nothing confirmed so far.
