Shake, SHake, Shake
Been noticing the last two time when I take the boat out, that when I stick her in reverse, the engine shakes pretty bad. Not in gear ??, slipping gear ??
She backs up, but the engine shakes big time. Any thoughts on this issue. Thanks. ;) :-/ :-* :-* :-* :-* |
Re: Shake, SHake, Shake
I forgot, I/O or Outboard??
I/O could have a bad U joint? O/B, I had a buddy that had the steering tube nuts losen and the engin wobbled on it. How is the prop, is it bent a little? Mine has always had a small shake to it? |
Re: Shake, SHake, Shake
Have O/B with new prop. Maybe I stuck the prop on backwards. :o

Re: Shake, SHake, Shake
Hammer, if you forgot the thrust washer behind the prop it would do something similiar.

Re: Shake, SHake, Shake
Good call slot. *Also, I'd say if your skeg isn't exactly straight you might get some vibes in forward and reverse. *
New prop rules out a damaged prop. * Don't let your better half find out about the reverse vibrations....she'll start making you drive everywhere in reverse :o |
Re: Shake, SHake, Shake
:o
did he just say that? :o |
Re: Shake, SHake, Shake

Re: Shake, SHake, Shake
Thrust Washer is on, skeg is turned about 1/4 out of center I noticed.

Re: Shake, SHake, Shake
just because the prop is new doesn't mean it's True and not out of balance. ;)
