6HP Johnson
 

The neighbor just gave me a 1968 6hp Johnson, the motor is in great shape except it only has 50 psi of compression in each hole! I looked in the bore with my bore scope and it looks like it needs a bore job. the problem is my local omc dealer says that omc no longer has parts for this vintage, doe's anybody know of a good outlet for parts for older omc engines. Thanks

Skools can probably help. Also google antique omc outboards. Last shot is "Dunk". He's an old schooldOMC guy that can be found on a number of these forums. He posts on THT sometimes and on Florida Sportsman Boating Forum a good bit. I can probably get with him by email. Let me know what you find.
