Location for BAttery Switch
Adding Second

Re: Location for BAttery Switch
I mounted mine inside my starboard transom locker on the splash well wall. *A future project will be to add a recessed opening with door. *I'll try to find a photo of it and add it here. *Reasons: 1 I wouldn't have to pull out bin to turn switch 2 *Door makes it water resistant. *Billy Mac *;D

Re: Location for BAttery Switch
TX Mac- will see if that is an option- the splash well sounds like a good option.

Re: Location for BAttery Switch
Dont know how you guys manage to squeeze in those batteries and then mount them. Mine are under the splash well.

Re: Location for BAttery Switch
I cut a door in like the V21s have and bought a dual battery tray from Cabelas. *Its a tight squeeze but they'll fit. *Billy Mac *;D

Re: Location for BAttery Switch
Thats one thing I have nothing to worry about!! A full transom is open all the way across, I could fit 8 battery's in there if I needed to.

Re: Location for BAttery Switch
In my 1983 V20 I have it mounted inside on the slanted part of the splash well. Its right there when I open the door. The draw back is you see the heads of the screws on the splash well and I have to remove to take the batteries out.

Re: Location for BAttery Switch
Mac, could you elaborate on the cutting the door in. All of that wasted space drives me crazy. It would also give access to the tru hulls for the deck drain. thanks

Re: Location for BAttery Switch
I bought the doors at west Marine. *Did the port side first so I could mount my kicker bracket. *I made a cardboard templet of what I needed to cut out. *Positioned the templet where I wanted it and marked the fibreglass . *I *then used a rotozip tool to do the cutting. *Two hands on the rotozip, slow and steady.
