Tac Help Skools or anyone?
 

Can you tel me how or what color wires go to this Tac?? 1989 175 Evinrude, I have no harness for it so I will make one.

should be
purple = key on 12v +
black = ground (12v -)
gray wire tach signal
dark blue = gauge light

thats the standard wire colors set by the NMMA, don't know for sure, but your 89 should be the same

well not easy to make a harness better to buy one it plugs into your controls box. the harness has 3 wires a Purple, grey, black, OMC don't use the dark blue. But buy the harness usually cost $8


Purple is power on with ignition switch

Grey is the tach sending unit wire

Black it the ground

Yeah but if you make your own harness, you can use any color you want and wont have to conform to the oppressive rules of THE MAN!!!!!!!

that is ture, but when I want to troubl shot something it be nice to say hey Skool what wires go were and we on the same page!
Also $8 is cheaper then going out buying 3 color wires and connectors.

But if it was $10 I make my own! ;D
