fuel/water filter
I just replaced my fuel/water filter and now the primer bulb will not prime. I replaced the filter without putting any fuel in the filter, should I fill the new filter with fuel to get a prime? Sorry if this is a stupid question but this is all new to me with this fuel/water separator.
Thanks |

Re: fuel/water filter
Shawsee, I believe they recommend you do as you said and fill the the new filter with fuel and then install.

Re: fuel/water filter
I have never filled one before installing.......did you put a little oil on the seal before you installed?
It should pump up unless you have an air leak somewhere, or a defective bulb. |

I just did one myself...
Make sure your bulb is priming foward as it should. |

Re: fuel/water filter
Ok thanks guys. I did put some oil on the rubber seal. I did finally get it primed but it took forever. I now know that next time I will put fuel in the new filter before I even attempt to prime the bulb. Tomorrow is the "maiden voyage" and we are good to go.
Thanks again guys for your input & knowledge. This site is truly the best. |
