Batteries question Ok guys, here's another challenge; Every time I start the engine both my fishfinder and gps turn off, I know these units are programmed to do just that so they react to the drop of power tacking by the starter. Have you experienced this pain in the bu++ problem, if so what did you do to correct it? Thanks Joe |

Re: Batteries question Make sure your connections are clean. And also run seperate power and ground wires to a bus bar for your accesories. I've seen alot of people hook up to the ignition switch for there battery power and have this same problem. |

Re: Batteries question Ferm's right...have a dedicated + - to a fuse or breaker panel for all your electronics, keep your batteries HOT and connections clean ... should straighten ya right out ;) ... |

Re: Batteries question Bigger cables to your bus boards and batteries with more cranking amps will fix the problem if cleaning and tightening the connections doesn't. |

Re: Batteries question Thanks I have some 10 gauge multi-strand wire, that should do the trick... Joe |

Re: Batteries question (Revised) Bumpy bumpy :) Guys, I cleaned the battery terminals and replaced one that had the wrong size hole for the ground side of the battery. I also replaced the 12 gauge wires feeding the electronics bus with 10 gauge wires. I powered up the FF, GPS, CD player and the two VHF radios, then cranked the motor a few times :) none of the electronics shut down......great news guys, thank you. Another success story; D ;D |
