WHAT WOULD YOU DO ?
all the new zincs i put on are out of the water when i tilt up.
should i leave the outdrive down when not in use? |
Re: WHAT WOULD YOU DO ?
Yes, the zincs need to be in the water. I was always told that you don't store with the drive up because its stretching /extending the bellows.

Re: WHAT WOULD YOU DO ?
yeah, but i'm not storing it, its in the water to be used 2 to 3 times a week.

Re: WHAT WOULD YOU DO ?
In that case you should tilt it halfway.

Re: WHAT WOULD YOU DO ?
Even worse to be stored in the water with a stretched bellows. Leave it down. If you use it, it'll stay clean anyway.

Re: WHAT WOULD YOU DO ?
I had an i/o once that I just tilted up a little to keep the skeg from driving into the creek bottom when the tide went way out. You want to keep the zincs in the water to keep the rest of the outdrive from being eaten away.

Re: WHAT WOULD YOU DO ?
add a zinc grouper, you can't over zinc an I/O
