It didn't have the pieces of angle in it and this was the best guess of how it worked.

I had none whae I got mine, I did the same as you, But that looks a little thick?
I think Wellcraft used plastic??

If thats to thick, just router the wood a litte deeper. I threw the wood away on my boat and made new ones out of Starboard. ;D

It's the original hatch cover but didn't have the angle to keep it in place. Once I removed the teak slides I could tell the groove most likely held the angle.
The pop rivets also dictated that the angle go to the inside and not the outside.
If the wood wasen't in fairly good shape I would change to Starboard.
Just making sure so as to not have something else to redo.

Mine had plastic angle that was all tore up. I did the same thing you did then I waxed it real good with a candlestick to help keep it easy to open and close.

THANKS, I was unsure how to reduce the wear that was going to go on.
Didn't think of PVC or plastic.

Allright MJ, now you got me worring about the teak so I replaced it with Starboard (when it gets thru raining).

Found some bathroom adhesive molding to tape to the bottom of the angle to reduce wear on the decking.

Use Teflon Stripes To Reduce Wear. I'd Put Them Under Original Lid.

Cut mine outta edging used to install vinyl siding...comes in 12' strips from Lowes/Home Depot...several different edges as long as it has a 90* angle in it, just cutaway what ya don't need...thin, flexible and SLICK!!...
