Emrom painting top and sides

Anyone know how much it should costs me to have someone apply a coat of emron paint the top of the v20? my white fiberglass is old and chalky. Or is there a real way of makimg it look new again?

well to paint it you are going to have to clean it up!!

And if you are going to do that then you might as well wet sand the hole boat!

I forget and I am sure someone will come and say, but you use something like 1000 grit wet dry paper and sand the hole boat, do not stand in one place long and before you know it, Bam the boat looks brand new with no paint to peel off and look like $hit

Didn't know Imron was still available but looks like it is.
25 years ago it was THE top of the line, most expensive and durable paint there was.
Personally if it is just old and chalky, I'd just clean with a degreaser of most any sort and use a paste wax easy to apply (Rain X makes a spray on) and see what happens.
If you don't like the outcome buff and wax and see.
I'd paint only as a last resort. One of the idiots that owned my boat did just that instead of cleaning and waxing and I'm having to strip, wet sand, buff and polish the locations cause the paint didn't take a good toe hold.

Try using the polyglo with the cleaner, you might be surprised how new it will look. The unit (cleaner and restorer) is less than 70.00 and there's enough to do your boat exterior 6-8 times.

3M™ Finesse-it™ Marine Paste Compound 06039 White, this should do the trick.

GOOD ADVISE TSUBAKI, BUT PLEASE DO NOT USE ANY DEGREASER NOR HARSH SOAPS, THEY EAT THE GELCOAT.

GRANNI, BEFORE GOING TO PAINT, TRY FIND A PERSON THAT IS GOOD IN BOAT POLISHING AND RESTORING BOAT FINISHES (YOU CAN COME TO MIAMI) AND YOU'LL BE SURPRISE, PREFERABLY SOMEBODY THAT WORKS FOR A BOAT MANUFACTURER.

IF YOU EVER DECIDE PAINTING OR RETOUCHING, GO TO WWW.MINICRAFT.COM A LOOK FOR GELCOAT.

TO CLEAN THE BOAT USE A VERY LIGTH WATERPREASURE
CLEANING.
