There are a couple on this board,
so far they all seam to be pleased.

I personally would replace with another 150.

How solid is your transom.

Welcome to the board,
and last but not least,

POST PICTURES. ;D

Jason, a good "test" for your transom is to tilt the motor all the way up and then hang your upper body across the lower-unit, applying weight to the lower-unit ... a sound transom will yield very little "noise", whereas a weak transom will snap, crackle and hopefully not pop ... this is only an initial test, but if noise is nonexistant or minimal, I'd say yer good to go ;) ...

So far, we've had guys hang a 150 and two 200s on "V"s ... I personally think the 200 small-block and the V-20 are a match made in Boat-Heaven ... ;) 8) ...

Let us know how it goes ... the cumulative knowlege of all it's members is what makes this board as great as it is ;) ...

I think the 15o/175/200 all weigh the exact same. I know the 175 and 200 do. I just purchased a new 175 etec in March. I love it. Go for the 175 or 200 - depending on what deal you can get. by the way, they make a 200 HO (high output) etec, but that is a lot heavier - weighs the same as the 225.

It should also be noted that the engine should NOT be running at this time. 8)

The E-Tec small block, 60* motors all weigh the same. I had a Force 150 and it pushed my V20 at 35 mph. Most days on Lake Erie you can not reach this speed therefore for us the E-Tec 150 is more than enough power. It should push her to 40-42 mph. We had the digital guages installed with some of the money saved by going smaller. If you got it spend it and once you do drive it like your renting it. Billy Mac ;D

Drive it like it's under warranty, try to get it to break about 6 months before the warranty goes out.
