Return of the Squirrelly Head Attacker
 

Well, I'm just now getting back and reading all of these posts from the past week. I got a good laugh out of the squirrel attacking the deer in another post.

Just yesterday as I climbed into my deerstand, I happened upon the little bastage as he honed in on my skull cap. He had a big toothy maw just waiting to rip me in two! He sat only inches away from me and stared intently at my gord. I could see in his eyes that he was in attack mode. Slowly, but surely, I gently pulled the digital cam out of my pocket, held it up and, "SNAP" I got his pic!! This is the few and seldom seen "flying squirrel" variety here in NC. Beware, he is VERY VERY SCARY!!

My great grandfather was mauled my one of them and almost died!!! ::)

LOL - beleive me, I sat trembling at the thought of it! Oh the horror!

P.S. Did some research this morning. These little guys are on the endangered species list (maybe just in NC??) and it is likely that only 1000 or so exist in NC today. So, I'm pretty lucky to have shared my deerstand with him :D Cute little boogers ;D
