Last night right at dark I was about 14 miles out coming in to the beaufort inlet and saw a lot of thrashing and disturbance so I eased off the throttle and got about 20 feet from a Hammerhead about the size of a small carolina skiff that was trying to chunk up a 5 or 6 foot sand tiger. What a bloody mess he made of the sand tiger...It was almost like a cat plays with a mouse before he eats it..My chesapeake bay gets on the swim platform and starts barking at it..I can just see explaining to wifie how her pup got eaten by a big fishie....Frank

I watched that shark tournament show a while back, those suckers were huge and coming clear out of the water on huge jumps that made tarpoon look anemic.
Any of you guys keep a rod rigged for them, lot of guys around here do, especially in the little larger boats.
They also keep a handgun.
Kind of gives a different feeling to fishing huh :o

No, I did not catch this shark,
but I happened to be on the dock in Lewes, De
when this guy came in.

It was caught of the Delaware coast in June of 2005.
And yes, shotgun blast to the head to kill it.
