Boat exploded (someone else's)
 

at the fuel dock where I usually top off the PD. We were at a cookout in Savannah, so we had no idea until this AM.

Sounds like someone had a fuel leak. :(

Hope all injured a speedy recovery... :-[ ...sounds like fumes trapped in engine compartment to cause a blast like that...wonder if blowers were working or if he ran 'em prior to starting?... ??? ...

I was just at a local marina and they were pumping out 180 gallons of gas out of the bottom of a 32 footer. Marina owner said he's been seeing alot of this lately. tank was fiberglass.

yeah dog, thats what i was thinking. been a few threads hear lately bout guys trying to fill up thier rod holders. we'll never know. i just glad i trailer. fill her up at the chevron. i stay as far away from the pump at the marina as i can. too many drunks, idiots, and worst of all... drunk idiots. a few years back thier was a tanker filling the tanks at a local gas station. at one of the busiest intersections in town. he fell asleep. when he woke up he saw fuel had spilled everywhere. he ran. shortly after he split, car at redlight backfired, 20 something people dead. idiots, drunks, and drunk idiots, the worlds full of 'em.

There was nothing in the morning paper about her or anything having to do with the explosion. I'll keep you posted.
