Nice fat doe...MMMMM good!!
I got her Friday PM. Feeding on acorns....she was a fatty! I had to trim off a 1/2" of fat to get to the backstraps. :o
She tipped the scales at about 113, but I am calling her 115lb. The reason being is that I was towing my buddies boat back down to store it for the winter. My truck bed was full so I had to throw her in the boat. From the looks of the bilge when I got home I know she drained a good gallon or two of blood out. ;D http://www.forumpictureprocessor.com...s/000_0414.jpg http://www.forumpictureprocessor.com...112406_001.jpg |

Re: Nice fat doe...MMMMM good!!
Outer T loin....on the back along the spine on each side....two per deer.

Re: Nice fat doe...MMMMM good!!
Stink do you guys go after the inner t-loin? We don't. The only thing we take is the quarters, outer t-loin, and occasionally the neck roast but everything else goes to the vultures and coyotes.
By not taking inner t-loin we don't even have to gut em. Start to finish is 20 - 30 minutes. |
Re: Nice fat doe...MMMMM good!!
I took the inner loins on the last two...I usually dont bother, but have figured a way to drop the guts down..(not out) just enuff to get em out. Me and the wife had a good meal off of those four loins saturday...it was worth it. :D
I have clocked myself @ just under 13 minutes start to finish...from deer hangin to guts in the truck. ;) Thats with a pretty dull knife and not even drunk! ;D A buddy of mine has some coonass (cajun) buddies that can do one in 6 flat. Front shoulders included. 8) |
Re: Nice fat doe...MMMMM good!!
Yeah, I'm sure we've done one is 15 before. *We normally take our time just because we'd rather be out there than in the house getting an earful from the old lady.
Plus, we've been skinning at my dads house and he's got a rope thrown up over one of the rafters on his lien-to. Anyway that thing is flimsy! Feels like its about to break when you lift the deer so we have to be careful when pulling the hide down. We actually slice it down rather than pull due to that flimsy crap-of-a-cleaning facility. When two guys can grab it and pull that mess down to his neck, that's were you save time! If I start hunting in the mornings before work I might need to learn the 6 minute method *;D |
