Yep, I'm not real fond of it though. I don't think it really shows what they have to go through(or how they really act).

It always ruins stuff like that when you know the truth about how it is, but I sure enjoyed it.

I figured it must be somewhat jazzed up when the female boat cop gave a guy a free wistle instead of writting him a ticket for not having one. Who ever heard of a gamewarden giving a break to anyone.

I will give them credit though, most of em have a pretty crumby job. They have to deal with alot of pirates in alot of areas(NO not PIRATES OF THE CARRIBEAN). There are alot of old crackers down here that will do WHATEVER it takes to do things there way. I hardly ever get stopped myself, I(unlike most people) get there attention and wave at em. Most people get nervous and try and avoid em. The last time I got stopped was during the GASPARILLA PARADE, and they basically had a channel block setup to stop all of the boats. My big red flag was I had forgot to put on my new sticker so they had to radio in to verify it. No big deal. Be nice to em and they'll be nice back, but most of em have attitudes worse than a STATE TROOPER. But considering most of the drunks and ignorant rich pricks they have to deal with, I can deal with em being grouchy.

Most I have known here in Jersey are frustrated cops and act like real pr!cks with everyone they meet.
Saw a pair of younger ones approach a father and son hunting, in the afternoon going out to their stand. Stopped them for a routine license check. Approached them like they were Dillinger carrying a Thompson 45. Spoke to them the same way, made them unload while they had their hands on their handguns like they were in a quick draw competition and after they unloaded they made them put their guns on the ground and step back away from them.
I was disgusted, approached the two of them when I came out of the woods that night, they were sitting in the parking area running license plates. I identified myself and told them that I was sitting in a tree stand right behind them when they approached the father and son. That they had scared that kid and embarrased and scared the father. I asked them why they did that and the older one said that they had run his plate when he drove by and it came back as no record on file.
That happens all the time with dmv, it was a new registration and was not even in the system yet.
The guy looked me in the eye and said you know how it is, can't take no chances with these sh!tbirds running around these days.
I looked at them and said I do know how it is and you guys probably need to find another career, something you might be good at, cause what you did there was totally uncalled for.
They followed my car out of the lot like they were going to do a stop on me so when I got to the next spot to pull over I did and got out and approached them, they just kept rolling and drove by.
I called their supervisor that night and told him what happened and he said thats how they teach them these days, he said they don't teach common sense to go with it and that he would talk with them. I doubt he did.

You have to learn how to treat people with respect and dignity. You have to be able to read people, which comes with life experience. You have to be able to see things from other peoples perspective, and realize many of them are afraid of you.
You have to be professional in how you conduct yourself, how and what you say, but many nowadays don't understand that you can be extremely profesional and still have compassion for those you deal with.
You also have to be confident as a man, as a lawman and in your abilities to do what needs to be done.
Those that don't act like those wardens I talked about.
