Camp Pubah Florida
Here is a recap from today:
Got the boat in the water about 9:30 AM with 5 dozen live shrimp in the livewell. We went to Sebastian Inlet and shot outside and ran to one of favorite bait holes hoping to get some "greenies". Nuthin', nada, zip. Not even any birds working. We went back into the river and went to the flats south of the inlet. The guy at the tackle shop said it might be productive 'cause the water was kinda cold ( 66 degrees ) and the fish would be shallow. We about 2 miles of grass beds, Willy got one grouper, undersized. But it got the skunk out of the boat for the day. We went to fish a point on the peninsula and found out that you cant run a boat with 15" draft in 12 " of water. Me and Reel did our best African Queen imitation. http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y67...indmice029.jpg After a few minutes of pushing the boat of the flats we decided to run south down the river and fish the canals and mangroves. We got flagged down just after we got in the ICW. A 35' boat had a 25' Proline in tow, and the Proline had a jetski in tow. Come to find out the Jetski pilot launched the Jetski INTO the Proline. Not into the side, BUT INSIDE. He broke the engine cowling, wiped out the fuel system, slammed into the leaning post WITH THE JETSKI. Looked like the kid also broke his hip. http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y67...indmice031.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y67...indmice033.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y67...indmice034.jpg The big boat had too much draft to get the Proline to the ramp where the ambulance was waiting, so we took over and delivered them to the ramp. We took off after that and headed about 12 miles south and fished some of the creeks and cuts with little luck. http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y67...indmice035.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y67...indmice036.jpg *But the boat is still hooked up to the truck, full of gas, tackle is on board and the battery charger is on the trolling motor batteries ao we are heading out at "0" dark thirty to try again |

Re: Camp Pubah Florida
What ya can't see in the pix above, the starboard side of that Verado is completly SMASHED in...destroyed his fuel system...but that jet-skier really messed up; himself and others...the jet-ski bounced off the side of the Verado and into the back of the leaning post...all were lucky no worse injuries...

man, people are just as stupid down there as they are up here.
fishin with my pops a few years ago, a drunkin jackass had her 9 year old daughter on the back of one and slammed right into the atlantic beach bridge. in we went to save the girl and almost left the moron in the water. |

Re: Camp Pubah Florida
Man that's some crazy stuff. The boy on the ski looks pretty banged up. Doesn't look like he moved a lick between those 2 pics. How the heck could that have happened? Sounds like somebody was not paying attention BIG time!
Good report snaggers - looks fishy. TIP: The fish are easier to catch when you are INSIDE the boat fishing and not OUTSIDE pushing! Take it from me - I know! |
