Ok guys, this is really off the topic, but wifey is bustin my chops here to ask. Something she just heard on one of her food network shows saying that B.T.U.'s stands for British Thermal Units.

I disgree, its been years since I use to install gas firplaces, but recall the b.t.u. rating had something to do with the amount of heat per hour.

Any takers on this one. Wifey is waiting for a responce. *:-X

Forget it, looked it up online, we were both right. Wifey wanted to know what the letters BTU STOOD for. She was right like usual. I'm sorry to her and will make it up to her later.

She's right, but I bet your used to that. BTU does stand for British Thermal Unit. Sorry I couldn't find a picture of one, but here's a definiton:

A BTU is defined as the amount of heat required to raise the temperature of one pound of water by one degree Fahrenheit.
