I played Hookey today (w/ pics!)
First trip of the season was great!!! (Though it was in my buddy's boat rather than the V20) I'll let the pictures tell the story:
Leaving the port of Trinidad California. Adam is baiting a crab pot (dungeness crab season is open until 8/1) http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s...eavingTrin.jpg Pretty marginal ocean conditions ;D This is ~ 17 miles north of where we started. Dean is cranking one in. http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s...1/P1070221.jpg The TunaHead himself with a nice lingcod. These are NOT members of the cod family. Have no idea why they are so named... http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s...1/P1070218.jpg Friends Todd and Sean fishing nearby. http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s...1/P1070224.jpg One of the crab pots with a few Dungeness crab. http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s...1/P1070239.jpg The business end of a lingcod. Food goes in but it doesn't come out! http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s...1/P1070248.jpg |

Willy, I just looked outside and there is a stiff breeze today. The sea is predicted to build to 9 feet.
