I was told by my mother no less, You F--- the pretty ones and marry the ugly!

The thought here is that the pretty can get a guy anytime, any were! So you are always trying to please them to stay :(

The ugly will make a great wife as she just can't get up and leave, there for she will work hard at pleaseing you so you don't go anywere! ;D
