Canoeing with the kids
 

Last Friday evening, my family and I went to my good friends place on Highrock Lake (NC) for his retirement cookout/bonfire. When we got there the kids and I went for a little canoe ride.

With the drought we are having, the water is down about 6 feet in the lake.

BR, this is up Abbotts Creek.

My friend, Billy, retired with 30 years (28.5 hard years, 1.5 years of sick time) of service at the PD.

My wife took several pics, this is the only one that was close to being in focus.

Very nice...Abotts huh, you probably went by my trailer but couldn't see it for the tall grass. ::) It is lake drive no. 9 off of Old Mountain Rd.

Nice family shot brother, when you next talk with your buddy tell him congrats on his retirement, exactly what I worked. Wish him good luck and long healthy life for me ;)
