Re: Saturday on the water.

Our largest was 7.80....the results for sheepies was this:

1st 10.2
2nd 8.4
3rd 8.2

The sheepies in our area the last couple of years have really been big. We will probably have some 11 and 12lbders B4 its over this spring. What kinda size they run where yall are? Do you have em up there?

Stinky is that a Force on the back of your boat? Mine has a Force 150 on it. Tell me about your motor. We have sheephead in lake Erie. Ours don't have those verticle stripes. Do you know if the two are related? How do you cook yours? Bill Mc ;D

Re: Saturday on the water.

Mac...yeah that is a Force 120 on the back...96' model...I LOVE that lil ol motor. It has been so dependable and It has plenty of grunt for the 18. It will run about 32 WOT. 24mph or so in 2'swells. It also has a stainless prop. Only complaint I have is it sucks gas, but I think that is just a quality that Forces posess. My buddy runs a 20' Cape Horn and gets better mileage than me with a 200 Yami. Im sure most of you guys in V20's are getting better too....Macojoe said 2.5-3.5 and I KNOW I aint gettin that. ::) *

How about yours on the 20 hows it do?

Also I am not sure of the relation between the two types of heads. Ours do however eat very well...IMO the meat is just as clean and as good as Red Snapper....just ALOT harder to clean. As a matter of fact around here when snapper gets hard to get in the winter our restaraunts serve sheepshead and call it snapper on the menu. Most would never know the difference. ;D

RA- yes we had flat seas and I mean FLAT.....we could have taken a bass boat 20 miles offshore Saturday!!!! Those days around here are few and far between, but they sure are nice when they come.We were 9 miles out in that pic.

Heres another pic of how smooth it was...a buddy we were running with took it...I was mooning him. ;D

Thanks Stinky! *Mine seems to suck gas but my previous boat had a Suzuki 40 on it and I could run all day with a 6 gal tank. *I glad to hear about the Force being dependable. *Bill Mc *;D

Near the cottage there is a fishing fleet in Kingsville, Ont. Last summer we were in town watching the boats unload their catch. They had several hundred pounds of silver bass. We asked if they used those for cat food the guy said no. When you buy a bass dinner - thats what your getting, silver bass!

I just repowered with a 97 200Xl mercury from a 150 force and I can't belive the gas diff. My old force was very dependable but I wanted more horses and it was the best thing I did.
