Fuel tanks

I have two 1973 V-20's. One was originally a inboard and now is a outboard and the second is a outboard. They both have the two 20 gallon saddle tanks and I was wondering what size tank I could put in the floor. Also I am missing the sliding hatch cover on both of these boats and was wondering if anyone has ever made one or been able to find one. Thanks

Well I have a 1975 Cuddy with the 2 saddle bags, they are 20 gal a piece. Mine use to be a I/O before I converted it. I just added a 25 gal to the old engin hole and it fit pretty darn good with a little room to spare for a bildge pump.
That is 65 gal gas total now. There will never be a need for more then that!! And really unless I go of shore a bit that is way to much!!

But the way I have it figured if I sell the boat I can fill it up with fuel and add another $1,000 :o

As for the covers someone else asked about them a while ago and I belive that the only way your going to get them is to have one made or make it your self.

axespino - I' ve been working with fiberglass quite a bit lately and I don't think it would be too difficult or expensive to fabricate a hatch for your boat. *If you don't want to try yourself, you might try to find a local glass shop that will do it for you. *I'd even be willing to try after I finish my project boat. *

Thanks for the replies. I have a neighbor down the road that builds boats and I am probably going to see if he can make me one and maybe if it isn't to expensive to put a tank in the floor of the boat that originally came with the outboard. I am not going to get both of these running and will probably get rid of the other one.
