Looks nice Zebra! 8) Beware cross-winds at the dock/launching ramp! That's the only down-side to big curtains -- lots of windage.

Watcha mean Pipe - the windows might blow out? I was thinking of adding more snaps to mine to prevent such a delimma..

No, ok I figured it out...you meant that its harder to control the boat with that big ol "sail" up there, right??

Sorry, me a little sloooowww. :)

Re: New Side curtains

I dunno, I drive a 42 foot ferry which is enclosed for about 26 feet with TONS of windage, but it hardly ever gets blown around on me. Granted, I plan things out so that I use the wind to my advantage when landing, but it seems like it never gets too wild. Do you think that hull shape has something to do with this? It's a "built-down" (wineglass shaped) Maine Lobsterboat hull with a skeg that goes down 5 feet.

Re: New Side curtains

Thats the reason, skeg, keel and massive displacement, very stable and would take a strong wind to have much affect., and I never realized until recently how much a full keel affects things. Ride in a Shamrock 21 footer with a full keel and shaft to a prop drive setup with an inboard located in the center of the boat. Wow, you'd think you were on a 40 footer the way it rides and cuts thru waves and wind. Even a broaching wave action. ;)

Re: New Side curtains

Yeah Willy, that makes a lot of sense. It is kind of broach-happy though. Could this be because the keel (skeg in Maine) is deep all the way up to the bow?

Looks great, your gonna really enjoy them. I have the front and side curtains also. The only downside i have found is you can use the boat year round. I used to do serious projects in jan and feb and be ready for the spring, but not anymore. Now i just do band-aid fixes and keep on going out.
