270 Coastal Gunnel Caps
 

I finally found a forum for Wellcraft boats, even if it is not for the coastal model. I have looked through the archives and know many of you are familiar with models other than the V20, so here goes. Has anyone installed flush mount rod holders on the Coastal series of boats? Specifically the models that use the gunnel plate with the two rubber inserts. Obviously, I would like to see someone elses handy work before I go cutting away but would also like to know if the gunnel plate is strong enough for bluewater fishing. I have a ton of other questions but will hold off until I solve one problem at a time.

I have some of them, they are fine as long as you add a backing. I have aluminum dimond plate drilled out the same under mine. Nothing pulling that out!!
