Bimini Support

Here are 3 photos of my Bimini Supports. *I like the permanent attachment but that will have to wait til I replace my bimini with a full enclosure. *What I ended up using is two 11/4" pvc tees. *I cut out a 5/8" slot on the back side and positioned them over the sides of the windshield at the top. *My bimini's support poles rest perfectly in the notch of the tee. *The bimini rides perfectly here during trolling and at low speeds to reposition for another trolling pass. *At crusing speed the bimini is put back into it's rear position. *Billy Mac *;D

Oh yea I might add that they limited out on the Walleyes with the bimini rolled forward. I posted that info here cause Stinky don't like a fishing report without pictures. I don't either Stink!

I thought you'd never ask. *That is a 11/4" plastic tee bought in Canada at a Home Hardware. *In Canada, at least in Harrow, Ontario, their plumbing fittings are made of black abs plastic. *I called it pvc because that is what we have here in the states. Billy Mac *;D

Mac is that there just as a resting spot or is there some kind of fitting you made up. I can't tell from pics. I would like to fold mine forward also but am leary of the weight on the windshield unless it is spread out well.

Re: Bimini Support

The tee is just a resting spot for the bimini. Without the tee the bimini frame on the port side would rest on the window frame and on the starboard side it would slip down and end up being kittywumpus so the tees allow it to rest at a level position. I don't see it to be harmful as long as it is returned to the rear position at cruising speeds where there would be more pounding. I like it forward while fishing. Billy Mac ;D

They got to make one like a window blind. You reel it out when you want cover :D

That's great idea. Here in Detroit the awning companies sell motorized awning that attach to the facia board under the gutter, if only they made one for a boat. Billy Mac ;D

willy, how are you feeling. Saw my doctor yesterday incision is infected not too bad. I now get to do foot circles. I can't put any weight on it yet though another weekend and no fishing for me!

I feel every bump, every little jolt, every seam in the road when I'm in a car going somewhere. Little tough sleeping at night but it's getting better. My big risk and what I have to wait and see is if the fusion bone they put in between two diffrent vertrabae actually fuse. Certain percentage of people don't and they have problems.
So for now just taking it easy, they won't let me back at work so I'm just chillin, taking it easy.
We will both be back at it soon brother ;)

Willy I'm a big Red Wings fan. Our just retired captain Steve Yserman took a hard check ten or twelve years ago. He had fusion done to his upper back area and came back to play a decade more of hockey. Yours will turn out ok. Billy Mac ;D
