swapping contols/motor
 

well as ya know i'm looking for another motor and it wont be a force, prob a evinrude or johnson...so i'll have to get different controls...my question is can i still use the throttle that i have one the console now? its a teleflex i think.....would other motors control cables hook up too it?.....this throttle you have to pull it sideways put it in i guess ya would call it free clutch mode or something lol basically it allows me to start it at high rpms without putting it in gear.

Some of them controls are universal and sholud work fine.
You will have to wait and see what you get to find out if it will work?
Johnson Evinrude will work with the pull out warm up that you speak of. And with lever warm up.
You might be all right.

MJ is all over it. You may have to change cables or cable ends (outboard end) and thats it.

You will need another tach, your present tach won't work with anything but a Force, it will read way low.
