Re: Starboard question.............

You use just regular wood tools, Router, Table saw, Jig Saw, Drill bits, Ect Ect Ect...

When using a jig saw you want to try to move fast because if you go slow the plastic melts and gules it self back toghter, sior you to cut again.

You can't glue anything toghter all must be screwed toghter. Pre drill your screw holes.

when using for floor covers and hatch covers leave a little wiggle room cause it does expand slightly in the heat of the day.

eveything in red is starboard on my boat!

And this great Tackle Box built by CB and I and built in to the front port dash, as you can see in the pictures, its all screwed toghter with SS Wood screws.

Thanks gents,

I'm just planning now. That 88' DC has those dark plastic doors everywhere - which I think look terrible. I think white would clean it up. Where is the best place to purchase? Got a West Marine close or is an online source better?

Usually the shipping costs kill you. If you got a local boat supply shop they carry the stuff and it's a lot cheaper planning to get by the whole sheet. Around here 3/4'' runs about $300 and 1/2'' near $275. Don"t be afraid to drive a hundred miles to save good money.
Oh the sheets are normally 54x96.

Re: Starboard question.............

Search out "Lumberslinger"'s posts. He just redid all those black doors on his boat. He's got the same boat and has put some serious elbow grease into it, and it shows bigtime.

Hey MJ How thick are your floor hatches? Do they give a little when you stand on them. I need to make a couple for my V.
