Engine Stand???

I am going to pick up my new used Suzuki 140 today. The only problem is that my old Yamaha 200HP engine is still on the boat. I want to set it up so I can still start it up for when I sell it and someone comes to check it out.

Any suggestions on an engine stand? Is it possible to make one?

Thanks!!!

PC

Here is a link to a past thread about this subject.

Also, when you see the one I built, just note that I shortened it and added cross members across the middle for added support.

BG, that post was WAY too informative, helpful and straight to the point. You have eliminated the need for and further posting in this thread thereby preventing a PILE of BS slinging. :-/

Have you learned nothing from being around here young Jedi? ::)

Don't forget the lifting ring (eye) if either of them don't have them on the motor (saves a lot of grief).
Not sure check Harbor Freight they might have one big enough.

Or you cant just wrap a big tow strap around it like so:

I did the tow strap thing and I ran a 2 x 10 across a opening on my deck to hold my motor.

i just use a flywheel hanger i made for my motors and you can put an outboard on the cheap motor stands avail from like autozone or advance just adjust the motor holders to fit an outboard.
