Anchor adjustments
Got P.O.ed that the anchors didn't fit anywhere except on deck and I really wanted them to fit in a floor box or hold.
Almost started to look for ones to fit in the floor boxes but then came to the realization "I can cut the ends off the flukes". Now they fit. Needed them to be no more than 16" wide. http://i175.photobucket.com/albums/w...Picture239.jpg |
Re: Anchor adjustments
Sorry, this is what it looks like in the hold.

Re: Anchor adjustments
Looks great, know all you have to do is rig them Break Away style and you'r ready to go!!
Drill a whole in the top pannel of the anchor and attach the chain there, run the chain the normal, bottom of the anchor and attach the chain with two zip ties. This way the anchor will hold, but if you need to get it out of the rocks, just tie her off, put the boat in revers, and the zip ties will break so you can retrieve your anchor ;D Did that make sense ::) ;D |
Re: Anchor adjustments
Yes, except the rocks part. ;D
At best we got some coral or 5/8" gravel to contend with at this shelf location for about 40 miles to the east. |
Re: Anchor adjustments
I guess you dont need to rigg it like that then :-/ ;D
Looks great! |
Re: Anchor adjustments
Can you post a pic of the set up with the zip ties? Thanks

Re: Anchor adjustments
Its easy to do axe
Drill hole add chain or rope, I used rope to flex easy with anchor movement. Run up the anchor shaft leaving a little so anchor can move. Add zip ties to rope were the chail goes, and then put chain to rope instead. Pull hard zip ties break, anchor will come up bottom first. http://syncboard.com/albums/Boat-Tac...chor.sized.jpg |
Re: Anchor adjustments
