Trim Tab install

I have not got pictures right now, But I started to do the trim tabs,
First problem is that to put them were they shoulkd go The acuators ended in the center of my scuppers. :(

So instead of the 4 inches from the edge of the boat, I had to go 8" to clear the scupper.

2nd problem is that on the port side there is a 1 inch hose coming out for a saltwater wash down right next to the scupper :-/

So tomorrow I have to glue a dowle in the hole freom the hose, and marine tex over it, Now I will be able to put the other actuoter on and that part of the install will be done.

Nexy problem is that they give tou 4" nipples to get the lines in from the transom, and my transom is 6" thick, so I have to go tomorrow to get longer nipples.

I am taking some pic's as I go and will post all later when I am done.

Wow nothing is simple for me!! :'(

Good news is that the wood was still good!! A little discolored in the bottom were the tabs go but fine.

One of two locations for the trim tab rocker switches?

The other, I am thinking this one even though its a harder place to reach so that water doesn't sit on the switches?

MJ,

The trailer queen is looking good. ;)

The new bottom paint looks sharp. You ever think about getting some vinyl tape and making a boot stripe? I think it makes the job look all that much better.

For my Powerwinch I have a seperate battery that I throw in the back of my Suburban. I was thinking of an idea like yours with maybe a motorcycle battery instead of full size. Are there any electrical genius's here that could figure out a simple charger that could run off of the trailer light circuit?

That seat is 'ZACKTLY what I want. I get black 'n blues in the back of my knees when driving. Where'd ya get it? Any more left?

I can take any day except Tuesday off from work next week. You or CB want to go out on the Monkey Butler while the MJIII is busy getting dolled up? Name the trip gas is on me if you guys can bring some appropriate gear.

Re: Trim Tab install

Thanks every one!!

I just said to my son, that a boot strip would look good!! I have some b lue rope on a fender and I liked the way the blue looked, I think I will do it this week

As for the seat it was on crigslist for $200 and I got it for $175 complete, I like it!!

I have a full size battery on the winch, and I have a 7 pin coupler for the camper on the truck, well one of the wires is for aux power.
I have tnot done it yet but I was thinking that if I run a wire from the coupler to the battery, I will charge the battery as I am driving.

sounds good any way!

Well the trim tabs are done and they work!! I have to drill a hole for the switches but is hot!!, I will do tomorrow when its to be some 15* cooler!

Tsubaki, I want to get it done now so I have nothing to do in the spring!

As far as fisahing goes next weel MB, CB can't go till at least thursday?? So lets see what the weather does when get gets a little closer??

Ok guys I will have some more pic's later, I worked all night then right to the boat, I am going to take a nap, then I have to go out and pick up all the tools! and go to work again.

Re: Trim Tab install

I got the switch done also, so that make the trim tab instakk 100%
To dark for pic's so I will get tomorrow. I have to repaint a small spot on the transom cause I had to repair the hole from the hose, and after I added the dowle and marine tex, I had to sand a little, but thats nothing.
