Nice day on the bay & plenty of problems...
Well, it was still a good day. I found myself changing a tire on the truck at 0530 so that I could go fishing :-/
Fished on the Chesapeake Bay and caught plenty of blues, stripers, and a flounder in a spot where I'd never caught one. he was a nice surprise. Did a little boatriding and the bay was glassy smooth. :) Stopped at a friends house on the way home to give himn some bait and when I climbed into the boat, the trailer fender let go, rusted out at the mounting points. Rigged it up so it did'nt rub and went on home. Lumber inspired me a bit and I gave my baby a thorough bath when what did I find, but a broken trailer spring ???, and that was replaced two years ago, go figure. Oh well, got her off the trailer, gave her a great workout and let her stretch her legs, cleaned her up....and now I can put the trailer back together before my fall season gets reely under way. Oh yeah, forgot..... no pix ::) |

CY's right, I been trembling for days.
Willy, it was just one of those days where the waters beauty made me forget to take pix, sorry....but I'm sure you;ve had those days. It had been 9 or ten weeks to the day since I had her off the trailer ??? |

Re: Nice day on the bay & plenty of problems..
Sounds like my day but you brought home some fish. In all the years of towing I have never had a flat. Well, sunday pulling her out I found I had a flat but we managed to get her up the ramp. Thats when it dawned on me that it would be a great idea to carry a spare for the trailer. Well we starred at it for a few minutes and after deciding that the trucks spare was to big we called a friend right down the street. Lucky he had a spare and we had it fixed and on our way in 1/2 hour. While waiting on him this guy pulled up with this boat that he mounted a home made steam engine. I wanted to stick around to see him give it a try but had to move on. I did not read anything in the papper about any boats sinking so maybe it worked. Sorry I wish I had a camera as this boat was very cool looking.
