Lifting the boat onto blocks
 

I am looking for a good spot to position the blocks when I lift my boat up for trailer work. There are several "steps", or flat spots in the back on the bottom of the boat. Which ones are strong enough (i.e. have support beams underneath them) to hold the weight of the boat? I can't tell by looking from the inside where the supports are except for two that are pretty close to the center line. I want to put the two sets of blocks as far apart as possible. I appreciate your help.

Got mine apart right now the secound chine from the center is where the stringers are and their are bulk heads between all of the hatches and right under the cabin doors. I used a block of 6x6 and jacked mine up in the keel and in the transom she has a think hull. Hope this helps.

I like using chunks of dock floatation as my chocks. Cheap and has a "cushioning effect". I even have the one I use for the forward chock cut into a vee for added stability. Works for me!

How do you actually get the trailer out from under it?

I just take my boat to the ramp, launch it, then pull the boat trailer to the parking lot and start my generator up get the grinder going and when I am finished I load the boat and go home!
