Splicing Rope
Splicing rope?? How hard is it?? and i you don't splice what knot do you use to make a loop in your anchor and bow ropes??

Re: Splicing Rope
I don't think I'd have the patience to splice rope. Most of my lines that don't have a pre-spliced eye, I just tie a bowline. If it's just a 'temporary' loop for something, a figure-8 knot will do.

Re: Splicing Rope
Hey Mac,
* *If your splicing laid line(the twisted looking stuff), it's pretty easy and fun to learn. If you are talking about splicing doulble braid, well................................ I would personaly rather take a sharp stick in the eye, it's very difficult even with detailed instructions. I will search the web to see if I can find some info. Scott Hope this works, This looks harder than it is. http://www.machovec.com/rope/splicin...uck_splice.htm Her's the directions for double braid >:( http://www.machovec.com/rope/splicing/db_eye.htm |
