Bimini Top

What measurements do I need in order to get a bimini top online.

They seem to come in standard sizes...

Thanks

measure the width from gunnel to gunnel, figure out how high you want it and subtract how high the mounts are, and order it as long as you want it

Are you gonna mount on top of gunwale or inside it?...that'll determine where it lays when folded down...and standing at the helm allow for 4-6 inches above your head unless you have a much taller friend who goes w/you regularly, then you might wanna measure from HIS head...DON'T measure from your wife's head as this will give her a false sense of ownership... :o ::)...just kiddin'... ;D...

Heck, I'll pick you one up here in florida, and ship it to you. You might need to put me up for a weekend in Nassau for my trouble!!!!
All kidding aside, there are several places local to me that sell surplus bimini tops, If I can help I will. Don't know about shipping etc, fill me in on the details. I think I paid about $150 for mine

mudda, if you're goin' stainless frame, might as well count on SS fittings as well...my point is, get everything you need, including screws while you're gettin' the top, otherwise the top sits around while you round up all the hardware you'll need...sounds like it's difficult or quite expensive to get stuff like this in paradise... ;) :D...TIP...try to get hardware that uses PULL-PINS instead of screws...MUCH easier to up/down the top... ;)...

If your budget allows. get rigid supports instead of straps...I doubt straps will last long in your environment... 8)...
