motor well/transom cracks v-21
hey you guys with the v-21 i talked with the dealer in virginia that has that 96 v-21 that was posted last week for sale. he says it is in good shape except for what he desribes as stress cracks on each side where the extended motor well meets the transom. is this a normal area on these boats for that and is it a problem or something that is gel coat only repairable kind of thing. he sayd he can't tell how deep they are , does'nt sound like he is too saavy on boats

Re: motor well/transom cracks v-21
how do you like the paint job, come out the way you expected

Re: motor well/transom cracks v-21
Yeah it came out real well, I think I'm gonna do another light coat with extra stuff so it wont be slick when wet. I having the outdrive pulled as soon as I can get an appointment at the boat place, gonna have the bellows replaced and the outdrive serviced.

Re: motor well/transom cracks v-21
hey franco is what i heard true about the i/o's that if bellows tears it can actually sink the boat. i read it on the hull truth site, can't remember whether it was a omc/mercruiser/volvo drive the guy was refering to

Re: motor well/transom cracks v-21
On some I/O's it could be possible, if the bellows is below the waterline. I'm have some cracking in the upper bellows, several inches above the waterline, I was more worried about the u-joints
