V20 or Skipjack Dilema

I bought an 83 V20 I/O about a year ago. Just finished installing a new 350 and rebuilt outdrive. Fired it up yesterday and everything is great.
Now the Dilema!
I just found out that someone that I know is selling an 85 Skipjack 20 Flybridge for 5K (my price). The Skippy is ready to go, one owner, great trailer, volvo I/O and in very good condition.
My V20 needs more cosmetic work and some serious trailer work. I have about 4K total in the V20. A new trailer would cost at least 3500.
I like the fishing room on the V20 over the Skippy but cost wise I think the Skippy is a better deal.
Do any of you know how the two boats compare in the water? Should I be loyal to the V20?

Thanks

Didn't know that Skipjack made a 20' flybridge model. I would think that a boat of that size is too small for a flybridge. The limited beam of a 20' boat would make it top heavy and roll to beat the band in a sea or drift. I would think the V20 would be more stable.
Just my opinion though. What do I know? ???

i agree a 20 ft is very short to have a flybridge. i would be worried about it being top heavy. I looked up Skip Jack boats only made flybridge boats in 20' in the very early years. may be a sign that it wasn't a great idea or they would have kept building it. They aren't worth near what a V-20 is worth either. most i found a 20' FB was $2,375.00 Last yr they made it was 1980.

Like the guys above...20' hull + flybridge = top-heavy...have you ever been out in the Skippy?...if it's a real "gotta have" for ya, take it for a ride and try to get her in some choppy stuff...let her idle-speed thru some beam seas an see for yourself...we may have the wrong impression...try her in a following sea if you can...I can understand the allure of one "ready-to-splash", but just be sure you're not left "Whippin' the Skippy"... :o ;D...

$3,500.00 for a V20 trailer, my friend I think you are paying to much for your trailer. Not sure where you are but in NW FLA, top notch galvanized trailers made out of 4 in channel iron, not tubing, with tandem wheel go for under $2,000.00, maybe this will help your decision making. Maybe not, just thought I would throw it in
