Marvel Mystery Oil vs. 2 Stroke Oil

I recently asked Turtle Wax Company makers of Marvel Mystery Oil what it did for inboard and outboard boat motors. What does this do for 2 stroke outboard motors? Will it replace 2 stroke oil in your gas? If the automatic oil injection stops on my boat will this being added to the gas before hand keep me from losing my motor?

Dear Mr. Smith:

Thank you for your interest in Marvel Mystery Oil. Marvel Mystery Oil can indeed be used in 2-cycles motors. Our normal recommendation is to replace 25 % of your regular 2-cycle oil with 25 % of Marvel Mystery Oil. Marvel Mystery Oil provides the same benefits to 2-cycle engines as it does to 4-cycle engines. If improves lubricity under harsh conditions as well as preventing the formulation of sludge and varnish. It also helps keep the carbon deposits that form soft and easy to remove. We recommend adding Marvel Mystery Oil with each fill-up of gasoline to obtain the best benefits of Marvel Mystery Oil. If we can be of any further assistance, please let us know.

Sincerely,

Marvel Oil Company, Inc.

I never heard of anyone using in outboard motors, but I have no doubt it would work well. My dad has faithfully used it in his cars for years. 8)

When I sank an evinrude motor once, I pulled the plugs and filled the cylinders with Marvel Mystery Oil and then drained it out. I did that 5 times in a row. Then I blew out as much of it as possible, replaced the plugs and fired her up! She actually sounded better after being submerged that before! Marvel Mystery is some goooooood stuff.

I use to add it to the I/O, But OB, ???

I will say my marine mechanic says to use it in place of fogging oil. I have done so for years and always fire right up in the spring!!

I also use it in all my air tool oiler and they have never failed me!!

hey i use it for fog oil as well figured since it is used in gas and will burn in cylinders it would work great for that too. I use it for assembly lube when building outboards since the oil you use in the crack case of a 2 stroke must be able to be burned unlike a reg. motor oil.
